Jeanette and Veronica’s visit
On 6 November 2012 we left Rome for Bolivia and Peru where we would spend the next month visiting our Sisters and their ministries in these countries as well as being part of their Assembly and elections for Leadership.
We received a warm welcome from the Sisters in Carmen Pampa, Coroico, Piura and Sondor and were privileged to see the wonderful ministry they are doing in each place. We also had meetings in each house where we were able to share the content of Visitation based on the Chapter 2011 Mandate.
On 30 November the Sisters from Bolivia came to Piura and joined those in Peru for the Latin American Circle Assembly which took place from 1 - 4 December 2012. Again, a fruitful sharing took place among all gathered with rejoicing as a new Leadership Team was elected. Jean Morrissey was elected LA Circle Leader with Ancilla Grenham as Peru Country Leader and Helena Harney as Councillor.
During the Assembly special thanks were expressed to Sr. Maureen Coyle for her years as Leader and to Sr. Angelica McMahon who will return to the US in January 2013 after 30 years of service in Bolivia and Peru. Despite the challenges, we rejoice with gratitude for all that has been done and continues to be done by our Sisters in this part of the world.
